digital media | education | making stuff happen

I'm a creative educational technologist working to help make learning better in schools and in companies.

People ask what I actually *do*. Well...

I've worked with thousands of teachers across the world, in China, India, New Zealand, North America and Europe, to help them better understand how tweens and teens do use and could use digital media.

I was also a key player in setting up one of the most ambitious investment funds from a public service broadcaster in the UK (4iP), making the call on investing over £1m in cutting edge and high impact digital media products.

I'm the founder and curator of www.38minutes.co.uk, the creative industries platform for the North of the UK.

In education, I helped set up and grow an active community of educators over a large school district, the adoption strategy of which has been replicated countless times around the globe.

I was amongst the first teacher bloggers in Europe, and have spent a lot of time, money and effort trying to get a large number of educators and students sharing online

I organised the first BarCampScotland and created a similar format for teachers, called TeachMeet.

I speak - a lot... www.notosh.com/talks.html

I consult some big private companies and other state-run organisations on how they can open up and just do things so much better online.

I blog at edu.blogs.com and sell myself terribly on www.notosh.com
