As part of the Reboot10-introduction I presented this mash-up poem of stuff I found when mining the internet, my library and my mind for associations on free and freedom:
Freedom is about to get a LOT more popular...
Freedom is a wonderful thing
Freedom is history and vice versa
Freedom is preserved by free people
Freedom is the opportunity to own your own destiny, within the limits of reason and morality.
The universal declaration of Human Rights states that ”Everyone shall have the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion”.
But that’s not all people want for free...
"I want to break free!"
"I want free weapons"
"I want my free chili"
"I want a free and fair election"
"I want energy liberty. Free electricity and free energy."
"I want to break free from your lies. You're so self satisfied I don't need you anymore."
"I want to emphasize that the term “Free Software” means free as in freedom"
"I want to point out that the free version has some serious restrictions"
"I want someone to finish my site. FOR FREE"
"I want to stress the fact that even if information wants to be free people still need to make some money."
"I want to be debt-free by the time I turn 40"
"I want to live a good life free from financial worries"
"I want my free TV!"
"I want a free puppy for my kids please"
"I want a free domain name"
"I want a free house"
"I want to listen to another free audionovel"
"I want to play your free slotmachines"
"I want to share with you my experience of using KGB Spy Software"
"I want to abolish free will…..everything would be better if there was no free will…"
"I want to free God from this cage they have named religion"
"I Want to Feel Free ... So why, why, why do some people believe that marriage ENTITLES them to ownership ... "
"I want to find a path to fowl free fois gras"
"I Want Supple, Gluten-Free Buns"
"I want free gas too"
"I want to escape to feel free and safe with my family"
"I want to insert mongolian language in google translate service. I tried Babylon, but it's not free."
"I want to free research from politics"
"I want to try love lyrics or the free romantic love song"
"All I want for christmas is some lead-free toys."
Freedom is messy
Freedom is scary
Freedom is never enough
There might not be any such thing as a free lunch. But let’s indulge and sing halleluja to free beer, free software, free advice, crashing on a friends couch for free, free fun, free sex.
Some claim that freedom is about authority
Others say that freedom demands a lot of responsibility.
Where is the fine line between freedom and slavery?
Can freedom be lost?
Arbeit macht frei ist eine Parole, die in erster Linie durch ihre Verwendung als Tor-Aufschrift an den nationalsozialistischen Konzentrationslagern bekannt wurde.
Free us. Free us. Free us from slavery – and let my people go
Free us from Microsoft
Free us from the oil cartels
Free us from the tyranny of the plug socket
Free us from our addictions
Free us from the curse of yummy mummy
Irony might free us from the war
Car free. Pollution free. Carbon-free. Traffic-free.
Hassle free. Trouble-free. Work-free. Strees-free. Tension-free.
Gluten-free. Meat-free. Sugar-free. Smoke free. Alcohol-free. Drug-free.
Does temptation-free equal fun-free?
Sometimes freedom is under attack
Freedom is no longer free
Freedom is mistakingly interpreted as an invitation to freeload or freewheel
Sometimes freedom is just another empty word
Intellectual freedom is the right of every individual to both seek and receive information from all points of view without restriction.
Political freedom is the absence of interference with the sovereignty of an individual by the use of coercion or aggression.
Economic freedom has a greater impact than foreign aid in helping people in poor nations escape poverty. The foundations of economic freedom are personal choice, voluntary exchange, and open markets.
Financial freedom should never be underestimated
Freedom is not an academic discussion
Freedom is not a doctrine
Freedom is an endless meeting
Freedom is a constant struggle
Sometimes I’m proud to call freedom mine!
Free the mind
Free the children
Free the music
Free the grapes to ensure fine wine
Free the dragon inside
Free the content
Free the slaves
Free Tibet
Free marihuana
Free the future
Freedom is a Jensen designed solo canoe originally introduced as the ‘F1’
Freedom is an application that disables wireless and ethernet networking on an Apple computer for up to three hours at a time
Freedom forms the refrain of a great Aretha Franklin hit song
iPhone Freedom is costly in Europe.
Free the whales
Free the will
Free the willies
Why did celebrities rally to free Willy when Keiko - the Killer Whale - didn’t want to be freed?
Is freedom failing?
Is freedom worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes?
Isn’t freedom sometimes a lot more exciting when there are also boundries to explore?
Who are we to think that freedom is ours to spread?
The Dalai Lama told followers that he "wants to be a free man".
And the Buddha said that ”Of worldly things, we want and want. Ironically, what we really want is to be free of wanting.”
We can live free – or die
Feel free to choose
It's free to sign up, so join now!
If you want to sing out, sing out. And if you want to be free, be free.
Freedom is diversity
Freedom is responsibility
Freedom is not – and never should be - spelled “feardom”
Freedom is letting go
FREEDOM IS NATURAL NIRVANA
Let’s all feel free. Let’s REBOOT!
