Robert Goldberg

Adding the requisite PR BS.....but in additon am a ski addict, love hiking and the outdoors. Am looking forward to seeking out cool folks doing interesting things, investing time and money in them and doing something to help change the world......

Robert Goldberg is the Managing Director of Crossroads Ventures and a Venture Partner at YL Ventures . Prior to founding Crossroads and joining YL Ventures, Robert was the Managing Director of Venture Operations at Idealab where he pioneered the capital-efficient strategy of "innovation through milestone investing" which tied frequent operating and innovation milestones to successive capital investments. Robert partnered with the operating teams and helped manage the Idealab portfolio of companies including Snap, Insider Pages, X1, New.net/Vendare Media, Desktop Factory, Evolution Robotics, and Energy Innovations.

Prior to Idealab Goldberg spent more than 20 years in senior management, corporate investment and strategy positions at media, e-commerce and enterprise software companies, including NBCi, Looksmart, and Thinking Machines. He has developed and invested in successful companies across many industries including Web Search, Decision Support Systems, Enterprise Search, Performance Based and Cross Media Advertising. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Applied Science from Columbia University in New York City.

Robert has served as a director for numerous companies as well on industry and non-profit boards including the Interactive Advertising Bureau, New York, NY - An Association of Online Advertisers and Publishers, the Pasadena Playhouse, Pasadena, CA - The State Theatre of California and Universal Giving - an organization that enables individuals to donate and volunteer to top performing charities world wide.
