thinks up web ideas. likes to stay close to the basic idea. hates compromise. loves it when change takes form like putty in his hands. doesn't wash his hands after.

i'm fascinated by the crossing-borders way of thinking about and working on the web. disciplines exist but are diffuse in an unprecedented fashion. quote from colleague: "everybody is an interaction designer and i'm pretty damn serious about it too!". that's also free: free speech, free to do whatever you can without being restricted by social constructions such as disciplines and other "facts of life".

freedom is more and more a matter of active choice of an individual agent. not in the sense that reality is free for some and not for others--technology may push restricted freedom to the end of its life cycle; but in the sense of in the wrong hands technology returns alienation from the values of freedom as a victory of our times.
