i'm fascinated by the crossing-borders way of thinking about and working on the web. disciplines exist but are diffuse in an unprecedented fashion. quote from colleague: "everybody is an interaction designer and i'm pretty damn serious about it too!". that's also free: free speech, free to do whatever you can without being restricted by social constructions such as disciplines and other "facts of life".
freedom is more and more a matter of active choice of an individual agent. not in the sense that reality is free for some and not for others--technology may push restricted freedom to the end of its life cycle; but in the sense of in the wrong hands technology returns alienation from the values of freedom as a victory of our times.
there was a lot to like about your presentation and 'just the slides' won't do it any jusitice--but I'm going to ask for them anyway. ...
liked the metaphors you used -- the made me really get grip on your thoughts. looking fwd to your slides Andy.
