I’m an entrepreneurial twentysomething, breathing, eating, drinking and working in London. I’m part of the team at a social media agency, working mainly for Skype.
I’m interested in communication, design, and technology, and their impact on society.
What I wrote last year
With the emergence of the truly mobile web, an invigorated interest in privacy and data custodianship and the potential to do incredible things in the social, political and commercial spheres, the technological landscape of 2008 presents incredible opportunities.
Without collaboration, however, it’s unlikely that these opportunities will be exploited to the fullest extent possible. Individuals and organisations need to think beyond their aggressively secretive or commercially-minded foci in order to benefit society as a whole.
Achieving true collaboration is difficult. A better understanding of the incentives (psychological and organisational) for and the barriers (cultural; short term commercial; regulatory) against collective discussion and action is an essential tool for the new renaissance man — continuing to acquire pieces of that understanding is what I’m setting out to do.
