living off free

Even free services have some costs. What lessons did I learn from taking Skype to 400 mio USD in turnover, yet maintaining 'The whole world can talk for free"

Skype is seen as free. How does it make money ? Well, it does. 400 mio USD of it last year. Some things were done well, some badly and some opportunities were missed.

I (Michael Jackson, former VP Paid Services & Ops at Skype) can go through a few of the stories and experiences, and lessons from other companies I now manage outside of Skype

If anyone wants to listen. Vote here or leave it.

Interesting!

Hey Michael, your experience sounds interesting and I'd like to hear more.

Living off Free - Blyk and other examples?

Michael,
excellent that you'll be at Reboot! Suggestion: How about we make the session broader with some other examples beyond Skype. I could share some of the recent experience of the Blyk business model in practice. Making it more of a conversation session. How about it? (my only constraint would be that we do this sometime on Thursday)

Sorry

Sorry, Marko - I'm only at reboot on Friday. That's a shame. It would be great to join the two together. Next time. Could be a nice double act. Sime ?
