Malcolm Gladwell

What is the tipping point for the world of 'free'?

As the author of 'Blink' and 'The Tipping Point', Gladwell has gained authority on the processes of snap judgment and dissemination of ideas and trends throughout societies.
He might just want to participate and share his view on these processes in the world of 'free': howcome most free software doesn't catch on, while Grand Theft Auto IV pulls out large crowds of fans?

Blink

Good point, I would love to hear his points on that.

Duncan Watts

Recent studies don’t necessarily confirm Gladwell’s conclusions. Perhaps we could get another perspective as well? I’d love to hear about the same issues from someone like Duncan Watts.

Free Information could be expensive

Sometimes adding more Information to a decision making situation could have a negative effect on the outcome.

Malcolm Gladwell states:

"While our instincts tell us it's always better to bring in as much information as possible before making a decision, "adding marginal information has real costs ..." www.crn.com/it-channel/189401221
