Making Money from Open-source Hardware

David is the lead-software developer for Arduino, an open-source electronics prototyping platform. Lots of people make money from Arduino: manufacturers, distributors, publishers, designers, consultants, teachers, and even the Arduino team (a little bit). Some people work with us, some compete with us - together, we open-source lots of designs and sell lots of hardware. David will discuss his experience with Arduino and suggest some broader implications for open-source hardware.
