The Gospel of Action

Making the choir sing

Can organisations learn anything by studying a gospel choir? This will be a concrete story about why making a choir of 60 people find the right tune is not only about hitting the right tone.

Is action only about doing? Do we need to consider the purpose of our actions? Do we need to consider their effect? Is reboot almost bordering a religious event?

These are NOT questions that I would spend a lot of time on, should this proposal be chosen. Sorry if the title is misleading, I sort of liked it when I came up with it. I will try to be as concrete as possible in my description of what I think makes a gospel choir tick. It's a surprinsingly complex process if you want high performance.

You can transfer whatever experience you might like to traditional management terms, high performing teams, sports psychology, etc. And that might help you in reflecting on how you get from dream to action.
