Book Sprint
Using a sprint model to write professional quality technology books.
Over the past 3-4 years, a number of international communities have written books using a book sprint methodology. The books include "Wireless Networking in the Developing World" (wndw.net/), which has more than 1 million downloads and is translated to 6 languages, and books such as "How to Bypass Internet Censorship" (en.flossmanuals.net/CircumventionTools) and "Put Yourself in Command" (en.flossmanuals.net/gnulinux), a Linux Command line manual written in cooperation with the Free Software Foundation.
In cooperation between myself and the documentation team at Floss Manuals, the methodology has developed into a robust community-based process for writing high quality books in the space of 1 week, using high-intensity group-based approach.
Having come up with the methodology, and being highly involved in a number of boo sprint books, i'd like to present the methodology, and discuss the challenges and limits of the Book Sprint model.

Come along to the unconference on Weds...
As Sebastian kindly pointed out - this would be a great discussion topic at Wednesday's unconference on 'the future of reading' (and writing, of course)!
Can you make Weds afternoon, Tomas?
as part of future of reading unconference?
sounds very interesting, if it doesnt make its way into the official program, maybe it would be a good talk for the unconference on wed afternoon (www.reboot.dk/page/21721/en)?
