Impulse Shaped Services
Our online interactions are not linked to devices or channels anymore, a distributed approach is the common practice nowadays. This impacts not only the way we have to think about designing interactions, but we need a rethinking of the services itself. We need to create impulse shaped services. Just like this talk.
The last years we see the world changing from content driven to context driven. We are still designing however our services out from static contexts. How would it work if we have the real context based services where the impulses retrieved from interactions are the angles and boundaries of the service?
And of course there are consequences. This will lead to a whole different set of reference values for people using these services. If a service adapts to your actions you will experience in the first place less control. It can feel like jelly slipping through your fingers. And to create valuable interactions we need friction.
In this talk I will come up with some rules that are necessary to conduct impulse shaped services. Shaped from impulses in the broadest sense, both digital and physical. I will mix service design principles, gaming principles, our model of exploding services and new insights based on experiments especially prepared from now on up to the Reboot. Including this talk itself. Hope you can join me.

Iskander Rocks
Just spent a few days on a trip to Russia with Iskander and I'm sure this session will be one of the best at reboot11.
Spontaneous pattern re-cognition?
Impulse shaped services (ISS) "sound" exciting and I feel its familiarity. On many occasions I find myself in a "stream of thoughts" where different media as well as different contents all merge or "fall into place". A kind of Eureka moment. However, this phenomenologial moment is grounded in a feeling of great spontaneity. Big Q: Can I make it a personalized service?
I don't know if this personal experience has anything to do with ISS, but I got a new "stream of thoughts" going ... Thanks!
