Other Things To Do
What do to in and around Copenhagen once reboot is over
Some pointers to activities, attractions, sites and sights. Please add your own.
Art and Design
www.louisiana.dk/ - Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is a wonderful day-trip from Copenhagen. It's 35km north of the city, and you can get there by car and by public transit. It's got a great seaside location, an interesting location. You could happily spend a day there.
www.dac.dk/ - Danish Architecture Center provides a compact introduction to modern architecture. Excellent bookstore and pleasant restaurant overlooking the harbour.
www.vorfrelserskirke.dk/ - Vor Frelsers Kirke (The Church of Our Saviour) for 30 DKK will let you climb to the top of the church tower for a stunning view of the city. Not for the faint of heart, as it's a winding maze of stairs, but worth it in the end.
Outdoors
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederiksberg_Park - Frederiksberg Park (Frederiksberg Have) is a 30 minute walk from the centre of Copenhagen. It's a very nice place to take a picnic lunch and there are lots of interesting trails to see. You can rent a boat and make your way around the river that runs around the park, and the zoo is next door if you're so inclined.
Lunch in Sweden
The Swedish city of Malmö is a short train ride from Copenhagen. The journey takes you over the ØresundBridge (osb.oeresundsbron.dk/) and the train ends up right beside a very pleasant and company downtown.
LEGOLAND
www.legoland.dk/ - LEGOLAND Denmark is in Billund. Indeed Billund is the town that LEGOLAND built. You can take a train from Copenhagen (you take a bus from the nearest train station) and there are several places to stay, including the inexpensive LEGOLAND Hostel. Your trip will be greatly enhanced -- or perhaps made worthwhile to begin with -- if you have kids in tow. If you grew up with Lego, however, this is the centre of the universe.
