Airport to city by train

How to get from Kastrup Airport into central Copenhagen the easy way

Copenhagen's Kastrup Airport is well connected to central Copenhagen by frequent and inexpensive train connections that leave directly from the airport. Here's a short guide for the uninitiated.

When you arrive at Kastrup Airport and have retrieved your luggage and gone through customs, you will emerge into the main arrivals hall in Terminal 3 (if you happen to arrive in Terminal 1, there is a free shuttle to Terminal 3).

Walk to the far end of the arrivals hall and you will see a wicket at which you can purchase a ticket for the train into Central Station. You can also, if you are brave, adept at quick learning, and have some Danish cash or a suitable credit card, attempt to purchase your ticket from the machines located beside the wicket.

You'll likely looking for a ticket to Central Station -- this will put you in the middle of the city, with easy public transit access to almost anywhere you want to go.

Your train will leave from Platform 2, and the train platforms are one level below the ticket booth; elevators and escalators will get you there.

Trains leave every 10 minutes, the journey to Central Station takes about 20 minutes, and a basic ticket is 28,50 DKK (about $6 CDN / $5 US / 4 EUR).
