Stories
George, yeah, makes very good sense to start with experiencing it. Experience it first, have it explained afterwards. And getting people's own stories, although they of course have to understand it a bit first. But stories and metaphors would certainly be amongst the most effective methods. And making a repository of that kind of material would be a good thing.
I think the key thing to emphasize is not just that it is intelligence arising from a group, but that it is the added bonus, the synergy, something more than what one put in. The 1+1=3 kind of thing. That, depending on the feng shui of how things are put together, something new and unexpected sometimes happens. You put a few pieces of metal together in the right way, and you suddenly have nuclear fission. Except for that we're seeking for positive and constructive things to emerge. But it is a bit like creating life. There's not much stuff in a cell, but it is put together just right for the sum to be more than the parts.
I think that it is easier to understand CI if contrasted with the opposite. You know, Collective Stupidity. You put some people together in a group, and they all become dumber than they were before. Like teenage boys, alcohol, cars.
